Privacy

Plain version: Kept stores your books, the thoughts you write about them, your conversations with the mentor, and your exam results. It is not sold, not used for advertising, and not shared with anyone except the two services below that are needed to make it work.

What is stored

• Your account — the name and email address Google gives us when you sign in, and a Telegram id if you connect one.
• Your library — books, reading progress, ratings, and the thoughts you save against a page.
• Your conversations with the mentor, so it can remember what you've discussed.
• Your exams — the questions, your answers, and the grade.
• Basic usage counts — messages and exams per day, used only to enforce daily limits.
• Messages you send us — if you write from the menu, the message is kept so it can be read and answered, along with which screen you were on when you wrote it.

No passwords are stored: Google handles sign-in. No payment details are held — there is nothing to pay for yet.

What is public — and only what you choose

Nothing in your library is public by default. A page at /r/… is created only when you tap Share, and it contains only what you ticked on that screen: the book, the thoughts you selected, and your score if you included it. Anyone with the link can read it. Ask and it will be deleted.

Who else sees it

• Anthropic and/or Google (Gemini) — the AI models. Your messages and book details are sent to them to generate replies, exams and recommendations.
• MongoDB Atlas (database) and Railway (hosting) store and run it.

Messages you send us are not sent to any AI model. They are read by one person.

That's the whole list. There are no third-party analytics, no trackers, no advertising, and no third-party cookies. Four cookies exist: the one that keeps you signed in; if you arrived from a shared link, a short-lived one remembering which link it was; only if you write to us without an account, one that lets you come back and read the reply — set at the moment you send a message and never for simply reading; and, if you try photographing a page or tidying a note without an account, one holding a single number, being how many of your few free tries you have used. That last one is a count and nothing more: there is no identifier in it, and no record on our side of who used what.

Two sets of numbers are kept, and both are counters and nothing else — no cookie, no IP address, no identifier, and no record of what you personally did.

• How many times each page was loaded each day. It answers "did anyone visit today", and no visitor can be reconstructed from it.
• How many people reached each step in the app each day — opened it, added a book, saved a thought, took an exam, and so on. Each step counts at most once per visit, so that a number means "this many people got this far" rather than "this many taps". Which steps you reached is not written down anywhere; only the totals are. It exists because "nobody came" and "people came and got stuck" look identical otherwise, and they need opposite fixes.

Your rights

You can get everything held about you, or have all of it deleted. Both are real buttons, not a promise: send /export or /delete-me to the bot, or email the address below and it will be done by hand. Deletion removes your account and every record attached to it.

Children

Kept isn't for under-16s, and an account shouldn't be created for one.

Changes

If what's collected changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves.
